The purpose of this project was to create a surgical instrument using Adobe Illustrator, with a focus on learning to work with vector points and paths. I chose to illustrate the self-retaining Balfour retractor. The overall form was constructed using basic vector shapes, and gradients were applied to give the instrument a realistic metallic appearance.
