Research & Practice
Reference material included dissection photographs, medical imagery, and clinical texts to ensure both accuracy and relevance.

Process
This project involved creating a detailed line illustration of a dissected human hand, rendered in Adobe Photoshop. While the assignment focused on anatomical accuracy and structural clarity, I chose to focus specifically on a hand affected by rheumatoid arthritis to explore and communicate pathological anatomy. The illustration highlights hallmark features of the condition—such as joint deformities, synovial swelling, and soft tissue changes—alongside normal anatomical structures.

Final Illustration
The final linework was completed using pressure-sensitive digital inking tools, with careful attention to line weight, structure, and layer organization to support clarity and potential educational use. This piece was created as part of the MSc in Medical Art program at the University of Dundee to combine anatomical education with clinical relevance.
